How do I apply for Pre-K Counts?

What happens after I complete the Registration Request?
A representative from LVCC will contact you within two weeks, by phone or email, to explain the next steps in the Pre-K Counts application process.

How old does my child need to be to start Pre-K Counts?
Your child needs to one to two years prior to entering Kindergarten. Check with your local school district to determine age requirements for Kindergarten. 

What if I need care outside of Pre-K Counts hours?
Extended child care, before or after Pre-K Counts operating hours, is available for a fee and is based on location. LVCC programs offer flexible scheduling to meet the needs of working parents. For availability and pricing information, please call the center director at the location in which you wish to enroll. 
LVCC accepts private tuition payments, Pennsylvania Child Care Works subsidies and offers LVCC Scholarship assistance if you are on the waiting list for subsidies. Visit our Financial Aid page.

Does my child need to be potty trained?
No, we will encourage potty training in our classrooms when the child is ready. Parents will need to supply diapers, wipes, or pull-ups as needed.

Do you provide meals or can I pack my child's lunch?
LVCC provides a well-balanced, nutritional lunch and snack daily. Children are encouraged to try a wide variety of foods, including whole-grain breads, vegetables and fruits. Monthly menus are posted in each classroom. The exception is if a child would need their own food due to medical or religious restrictions, or if the family has specific dietary preferences, such as a vegetarian/vegan diet.

My child gets speech therapy, occupational therapy, or another specific form of special instruction at our home or in a classroom. Can they receive these services in a Pre-K Counts classroom?
Yes, you would work together with your child’s teacher and the Intermediate Unit so that your child could receive these services while in our care.

Is there a uniform or dress code?
Your child is welcome to wear whatever you prefer. We ask that all shoes be closed-toe for safety.
