More than 1,500 children receive early childhood education and child care services each day at LVCC. We’re the largest full day, year-round, early education and child care provider in the region, with 30 convenient locations in Lehigh and Northampton Counties. Each of our centers either participates in Pennsylvania's Keystone STARS or are working toward STARS, continuously building a higher standard of measure for our programs.
Responsible for the planning and implementation of a day care program for infant/toddler in a manner that contributes to their growth and development and is consistent with the goals and philosophy of Lehigh Valley Infant/toddler’s Centers, following program policies in accordance with Pennsylvania Department of Human Services Child Care regulations, and Keystone STARS regulations.
Responsible for cooperatively plan the week's schedule, ensuring the posting and implementation of lesson plans.
Supervises, directs and is involved with small and large groups of infant and toddlers in both planned and spontaneous activities.
Provide behavioral management which is positive, consistent, and based upon expectations which are clearly defined and geared to appropriate developmental levels and individual needs.
Responsible for the overall planning of program activities and the development of an individualized program for each child.
Responsible for assessing and recording infant/toddler's progress through, anecdotal records and Teaching Strategies GOLD assessments.
Actively participates in daily classroom maintenance/cleaning.
Works with any child needing special attention in conjunction with other staff and consultants as needed.
Works in conjunction with other staff in preparation of materials and cleanup of the room for daily activities.
Cooperates and is flexible to ensure that infant / toddler coverage is adequate and reflects continuity of care for families served.
Attends to physical and hygienic needs of the child including providing a pleasant daily rest time.
Responsible for carrying out Lehigh Valley Children’s Centers health and safety policies and procedures, including monitoring infant/toddler, activities, equipment and environment for safety.
Models good health habits; complies with Lehigh Valley Children’s Centers dress code.
Attends workshops, training, and conferences for professional development.
Encourages and facilitates communication and cooperation between family and center: maintains frequent contact with parents informing them of the child's progress, activities and behaviors.
Holds parent-teacher conferences semi-annually; maintains frequent contact with parents, informing them of their child's progress, activities and behavior.
Attends parent meetings and supports extra-curricular activities of the center or agency upon request.
CDA in Infant Toddler or Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education
Experience working with infant and toddler mixed age groups.
Maintains appropriate physical & TB testing requirements.
Able to lift up to 30 lbs.
